Pretty In Pink

Hey guys,

I know it's been SO long since I last posted. Things have been crazy lately.  I was sick with a flu, then I decided to drop out of college, then I had an operation to have all my wisdom teeth removed.  Needless to say, I haven't been very happy.  I had the operation last wednesday and still haven't recovered, going back to see my dentist tomorrow to see how I'm getting on.  My face was twice it's normal size and bruised, I even had a black eye.  My LOVELY sister kept calling me gerbil-face (nice Lesley, niiiice).  I've been cooped up in my house for a week eating nothing but yogurts, rice pudding and mashed potato.  Today was the first day I was FINALLY full after a meal, I got to have french toast and a sliced banana for breaky (nom), although it took me about an hour to eat.  Bruises on my face are now green and I can't open my mouth more than the size of my index finger.

Got out of the house today for a drive with my sister and dropped into salon services to buy some bits and pieces.  We bought an eyelash and eyebrow tinting kit and a backcombing brush.  I bought some detangle spray for my hair and these ADORABLE nail decorations.

I just had to try them out when I got home, this was the finished product.  What do you guys think?  I'll definitely have fun using these again!!

That's all for now, I'm exhausted still.  Can't wait to get back to myself.  When I'm better I plan on blogging a lot more.

Night night lovelies.

Love Lori

Saturday Night And I like The Way You Move

Hey blogging world,

Staying in watching The X Factor at the moment.  I've taken over twitter with my serious amount of tweets about the show.  I'm absolutely madly in love with Craig Colton and Marcus Collins.  Have to admit I really can't stand Janet Devlin (just not my cup of tea).  I love Saturday nights staying in with goodies and wearing my PJ's.

This morning I went to get my eyebrows threaded with my sister Lesley (most wonderful sister ever).  EVERY girl should get their eyebrows threaded, I don't think people realise how much of a difference good eyebrows make to your face.  They're the frame to your face and I find when mine are shaded in nice and dark and have a good shape on them they make my eyes POP.  Although threading is painful, it's completely worth it.  I pay 15 euro about every six weeks but I know there are places that do it for cheaper.  I urge all you ladies out there, GO FORTH AND GET FABULOUS EYEBROWS.  While getting my brows preened I spontaneously decided to get my hair done.  I'm a natural blonde and had been getting highlights since I was about 15.  Last December I decided to go brown for a change, I loved it but now I want to start going back blonde.  Well a few weeks ago I went to a Salon in Dublin, Brown Sugar, and did the modeling classes.  We discussed what I wanted and I decided on a light brown tint with scattered blonde highlights... I left with RED hair and blonde CHUNKS, needless to say I was disgusted.  I complained a few days later and they didn't really seem to care one bit.  Pure laziness and awful service in my opinion.  Today I went to my usual salon and got a full head of highlights, I am so happy with how it turned out.  The red is very toned down and there are lovely honey coloured highlights all over.  Now I'm gradually in the process of going back to blonde, after all blondes have more fun don't they?

What do you guys think of me with blonde hair?

P.S. I'M GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD ONE PAIR OF EYEBROWS AT A TIME

That's all for now,

Love Lori

Finally - My first EVER blog post

Hey blogging world,

So, I've been wanting to write a blog for ages now and finally decided to this evening while sitting on my sick bed couch.  I'm not too sure what I want it to be about really, but hopefully I'll find my feet soon.  I'm a 19 year old college student studying Nutraceuticals for Health and Nutrition in D.I.T and I absolutely HATE it.  What I really want to do is work in a creche or be a makeup artist (I know, I'm really in the wrong area).  I have another two and a half years left of my degree and can't wait to see the back of it.  It took me a year in a course I hated to decide what I really wanted to do.

I love reading, makeup, painting my nails (you'll come to realise I'm slightly obsessed) and fashion.  My sister tells me I wear clothes that could suit nobody but me (compliment?? - I hope so).  I don't follow current fashion trends, I just pick and choose what I like to wear myself.  I get my inspiration from blogs and girls I have a good creep on while working or strolling through Dublin City.

I have no idea what I'm doing here and really hope that I can interest people in what I have to say.  I always thought I wasn't interesting enough to have my own blog and never thought people would follow me, but what is "enough"?

Also the name of my blog, Utterly Butterly, came from a childhood name my parents gave me.  They used to call me low-low like the butter and then it changed to Utterly Butterly and it kind of stuck.  It's been a while since anyone has called me that apart from my sister.

That's all for now,

Love Lori
